I Found Some Good..... Sort of

There are some good things in this bill that passed. Like, with both of the bills, they cover 32 million uninsured Americans and try to get rid of or improve unpopular practices of the insurance companies. In a decade the deficit should reduce by an estimated $143 billion. My question is, with this administrations spending habits, how high will the deficit be in a decade?
I give them props, there is no public option, which was something that was protested highly. They also have eliminated the pre-existing condition problems. I mean there are SOME good things in this bill but not a whole lot.
Why would we want our student loans to be in the hands of the government? Oh, you thought I was just going to talk about health care? well the bill doesn't just involve health care. One of the many earmarks in the bill, that people don't want, is taking away banks and private lenders ability to originate student loans. Oh goody, the government now controls some other way of DISTRIBUTING money.
The president said something interesting, might make a few people mad, but he doesn't seem to care what the American people think. "From this day forward, all of the cynics, all of the naysayers--they're going to have to confront the reality of what this reform is and what it isn't," President Obama said. "They'll have to finally acknowledge this isn't a government takeover of out health care system."
I want to know how is it not? I mean by 2014, if you don't have health insurance you will be fined. I don't agree with FORCING me to have health insurance, that is my right to have it or not. I think the government should stay away from giving me rights, thats not their job. They are supposed to protect my "alienable rights" that every American has.
The fact that the government is trying to give us rights, the fact that they are slowly getting control over every dime I get, is really starting to scare me. The bill that is not only about health care is spending A LOT of our money, we shouldn't let that happen.

Change Is Needed....But Not Like This

Doctors are so scared about getting sewed that they give paitents more tests than they actually need. Its bringing up the cost of one visit to be more than any one American can afford. People are now avoiding even going to the doctor, even if they need to. Doctors are only trying to cover themselves from getting sewed and losing their jobs. This culture has become so "me" oriented that doctors have to be ready for anything. They have to avoid losing their jobs to save their family.
Insurance companies are starting to cover less and less. They have so many previous condition lists that make it so you can't even get health insurance. If you manage to, then it's really expensive. It's more expensive to have health insurance now than it has ever been.
People all over America are in agreence, health care is a problem, but they also agree that it's the cost and previous condition regulations that are the major problem, not the coverage. We need to find a way of keeping the great health insurance, without the terrible cost.
On the Glenn Beck program, they argue about what's going on in the debate. They end with Beck saying:
"It is really, truly amazing how the media is I mean, if you were just objective at all, at all, you have the Premier of Canada coming from this utopian medical society of Canada here to have heart surgery because it's not routine because it is difficult. Then on the same day you have the president of the United States saying, "Hey, by the way, you know, I tried to be very clear that you should be able to keep your own doctor, but some of the things slipped into this bill under the cover of darkness. May have gotten in there that won't guarantee that you can keep your own doctor." My gosh!"

What Happened to Bipartisanship?

Right out of Washington Post today it says:

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama urged Congress Wednesday to vote “up or down” on sweeping health care legislation in the next few weeks, endorsing a plan that denies Senate Republicans the right to kill the bill by stalling with a filibuster.

In our president's so-called bipartisanship aren't the republicans supposed to have a say too? I agree with the president, another year of negotiations will do nothing, if they keep arguing like they have been. This isn't one-sided; no one side has the right solution. They need to get everyone's opinion and combined a solution that will actually help the American people. Maybe, for once, Congress should actually listen to the everyday Americans, not the "experts." You never know, it could help.

What the hell! The president talks about being bipartisanship and then turns around and endorses the democratic leaders of congress to put regulations on the republicans. I am pretty sure that will do nothing to help anyone out Mr. President.

No, there needs to be a true bipartisanship. The country needs both conservative and liberal to run properly. One or the other running congress doesn't do anyone any good. I think that people need to see that both sides of the argument are important. They both need to be heard and they both need to be used. It's called compromise people.
